Serious Changes

I have not been able to upload any strips for over a week now, and
for that, I am truly sorry.  This is because of continued difficulties
with my web host, which is now completely inactive and I doubt I
will be getting back on again to do anything.  Because of this, I am
getting a new comicgenesis account where I can continue updating
with much more ease and confidence that I shouldn't have any of
the problems I've been having already.  However, because of the
bad timing, it will probably be after Xmas and or New year before
I can upload again.  However, when I do get my account setup and
sorted, I will post all the one's I have missed during this time.
This is mostly because of:

1.  The fact that you, the readers, have been so patient and it will
be a nice read all at once.
2.  I have them all ordered and labelled, ready to be posted on
those dates, and I don't want to mess it up.
3.  I also still want to post the Xmas and New Year pics which I
made specially.

So, on this note, I leave you until then.  I will post again when It's all sorted out.  But, until then.  I wish you all a very merry Xmas.  And if you don't celebrate it, then just remember to enjoy yourselves anyway and have a Happy New Year!!!

Ciao 4 NoW!!

This is the newest character design for the comic. Her name is Stephanie because she's modelled after me. I just had to have my own character in the comic. Right from the start I thought. Anyway, the design isn't complete. Her hair more or less is, but not the clothes. This is just one of my sketchy attempts at clothing design. As you can see, not perfected yet. Heh. Anyway, please enjoy it anyway, and feel free to give me any comments or suggestions. All are welcome. Ciao 4 Now! Posted by Picasa

For now, some gallery images will be posted here in the blog. For how long I don't know. But either way. Enjoy this little doodle I did of Nathan. Sorry for no clothes. He's definitely embracing his "Animal Instinct" heh. Great for use as a desktop background. :D I use it.

All In One

Ok. I've decided to put all of my blog updates from both everyday life and to do with the comic in one blog. I don't have the time to be updating two different blogs all the time. So, from now it's all going to be in this blog. But i'm only going to be updating when there's something about the comic to post about. Unless of course I can't wait. Heh.

Anyway, first off, I've deleted my other blog and have posted all the updates here, so they don't get lost. It's not much, but it's history. And history should be preserved, shouldn't it?

But what I really want to say is that I'm going to be searching for a publisher for my book after the new year! Yes. I've finally reached that stage. Congrats to me. Yay! I hope I get somewhere. I don't want to have to go through an agent just to get published. Any money I earn from my books should go to me, not someone else I don't even know. Anyway, I've started looking briefly, but a full search is going to have to wait until next year. Wish me luck.

I also have another thing to say. My Great Uncle died last week during the night. His body was riddled with all types of Cancer. Anyway, the funeral is on Tuesday. And I'm going to go through on Monday and come back on Tuesday. I've never been to a funeral before, so I don't know what it's like. Anyway, I'm going to miss at least one and a half days of college for it. Bummer. And I don't know if I'll be able to update the comic on Monday. If I go to the college for the morning, it means a 0630 rise and I don't know if I can get an update posted before I go. Usually I would do it when I got back. But this time I will be going straight through to Glasgow when I get back. If I can update I will. But I don't give any guarantees. Just though i'd let you know.

Thanks for the support. I hope you enjoy the comic so far. :D

I finally did it!!!!

Imagine I've yet again been neglecting my blog. Am I bad or what? Tsk tsk.

I've been really busy since my last blog. My hand's healed on the surface now, but it's still healing underneath the skin now. It stings now and then and I can't get a proper grip with that hand anymore. Well, I never had much of a grip in the first place.

I applied for a college course at Stevenson's. 'The Office Experience!' It's a one year course and it focuses on Legal, Medical and Hospitality Reception/Secretarial work. Cool or what? Well, i'm pleased about it anyway. I'm going for an Induction day at 9:30AM on August 22nd. My sister isn't happy about that though. It's her birthday then, but i'm sure she understands. It's not my choice to go that day. I would change it if I could. Anyway, it's also only a couple of days after I come back from a two week holiday. For the first time in my life, I'm having two holidays in one year! Normally we can only afford one holiday every other year. Guess we're lucky this year. It's in EIRE both times, which is basically just across the pond. HA! But it's fun anyway. We went inMarch before with my friend as well. We went for a week to see the St Patrick's Day Festival. It was alright I guess. It's the first festival I've ever been to. Pity it hailed most of the time though. My head was raw by the end. It took over two hours to see the whole festival. Of course, I feel sorry for the people who took part in it. At one point there were some females going along in just thongs and a feather bra. Cold.. ouch!

Anyway, i'm going for two weeks starting on the 5th of August. We're going to stay in a cottage this time, rather than a hotel in Dublin. I didn't like Dublin. It was too noisy and personally, I don't like shops. I prefer cultural things. I must admit though, Dublin had a really good Ghost Bus Tour and Viking Tour. It was fun.

Anyway, I officially start my college course a week or so after I get back from EIRE. I start on the 28th. Goody for me, heh.

Oh. And my most exciting news of all. I finally finished my book!! I've been working on it for a couple of years and I've finally finished the first draft. I'm editing it now, then i'm going to see about getting it published. It's only the first in a series. So, I've still got a lot of writing to do after this. Oyvey!! Wish me luck, eh?

It's called, Raza's Journey, and I'm hoping it's going to be a hit. I want to try and make writing my full-time career at some point in the future, so.. here's hoping. I love writing, so I guess that helps too. Well, back to the editing. Guhh!!

Honey Wounded?

Yesterday i got my bandages changed on my hand. yeah fine, clean it up, make sure there's no infection.. but what's really weird is that the nurse.. believe it or not, put a thick wod of honey on my wound. yes, that's right. Actual honey. It's been stinging ever since. Apparently, it's supposed to be good for healing skin. Just like they say it's good for colds and sore throats.. hey. maybe it'll be good against the bird flu that's around... no? well, it was just a thought.. ;)

But anyway. Today's been good so far. I've finished a chapter in my book and i'm getting through the next chapter well now. The plot thickens... ooooh. Oh, and I spoke to someone from school who i've hardly ever seen and never really talked to before. Can't msn be fun, eh? She's really cool and friendly. We talked for ages... longer than i ever get to talk to my friend, Emma. But, at least I have a friend. I have to be thankful for that.

But, apart from msning and writing my book, i've been lazing around pretty much. I can do whatever I want right now not only because of my hand, but because my mum said that I should write my book whenever I feel llike it, so I don't have to do anything when i'm writing. And guess what? I've been in the mood for writing for a while now... hehehehe.

But, I guess that in a week or so, i'll by back to slaving away... nah! I never slaved anyway. I've always been lazy. Could be to do with my weight. But, i'm gonna lose it now, so then it'll be ok. Now, back to my book... LoL

Juicy Fruiter

Juicy Fruiter

I sat down and had a good read of Juicy Fruiter. I was really interested. Being a Park Ranger seems to be an interesting job. I love the outdoors myself, and would want to protect it. Being a Park Ranger would be cool, but I can't do that right now, being as how I happen to live in a capital city, where the most nature you'll find is a small, unkempt little park with a polluted burn - fish died from the pollution a couple years ago - and lots of scheming little buggers who pull up plants, break trees and chase squirrels - my dad calls them tree rats - back up the trees or into corners.

Well, I suppose I could try something. Not too long ago though, a farmer gave up all his land to the public for their use. Very nice of him, I must admit. It's miles huge, well, perhaps two or three in diameter, but it's nice. Apparently, there's supposed to be foxes around there. There's some rabbits, and even a pheasant. Don't know where it came from, but who cares.

There used to be more rabbits and foxes around there when it was a proper farm, but since it was given up to the public, thugs and morons pile around there lighting fires, using drugs etc. There's a huge recycling/rubbish tip right next to the farm, but people still dump their unwanted goods all over the place. Everywhere I go, I see cookers, microwaves, hoovers, computers and general household rubbish strewn all over the ground. And to make it even worse, thugs drag cars or motorbikes into the farm and promptly set it on fire. There's almost always a fire in there, usually a vehicle. And these same thugs and more also come roaring into the place on motorbikes or quadbikes, ripping up the ground and plants and chasing rabbits and other animals. People like to walk through there because it's a nice place to be, surrounded by trees. But it's not safe any more.

But, it's even harder to get in there right now anyway, because the council are building allotments in one of the fields and the main entrance is constantly blocked by large machinery or closed off by gates. It wouldn't matter so much except for the bikers who taunt people and sometimes even throw things at people as they go past when you go in the secondary entrance up by the tip.

Maybe someone can give me some advice on what I can do. I don't have enough time to join one of these environmental groups, the major ones that is, but if I knew what to do, I might be able to do something myself when I get the time.

It just really bugs me that people can be so cruel to nature. Since reading Juicy Fruiter, I really feel more positive about doing what I can. I mean, the farm is actually just across the road from me, so all the damage people do that land is affecting my family, neighbours and I aswell. Burning fuel and everything. Pollution. Grrrr!

Ha. There I go, ranting on. What a moaner I can be. But, still. Any advice would be great. I could be a private Ranger. Or something like that. :)

Writing

Writing is the only escape for the soul

Heh. Don't ask me what that means. I just made it up. Not very creative I know, but I want to try.

See, i'm writing a novel. I started it early last year in school when I had a free period in Business Administration class. Two words entered my head, so I wrote them down, and the next thing I knew, I had written most of a chapter by the end of the class. The two words were:

"Raza sighed."

Corny I know. But, it started me on a whole novel, which i'm hoping to get published either this year or the next. I call it "Raza's Journey" just now, and i'm on chapter 11 just now. I don't know how long it's gonna be, so i'm just gonna keep going 'till I feel it's finished. My friends and ex-teachers - who are proof-reading it for me - think it's great so far. I just hope everyone else thinks so too. Well, at least enough people so I can maybe make a small profit from it. See, I want to go on a nice cruis in a couple of years - my mum and dads wedding anniversary. They said I could come along if I paid for myself - but I don't have the funds yet. Heh.

Anyway, I've always loved to write, but i've never gotten so far with something. I really think this was the right time and the right idea for me to write. I'll spill more about it later though, 'cos my hand really hurts. Ouch.

I went for 1hr 15m on the treadmill yesterday. I'm dead chuffed. And today, i feel really great. I thought I would be really tired or sore, but I feel brilliant! So, after brunch, I did another hour. And I still feel good. Must be the right time for me to lose this weight, eh?

Oh Crikey!

Hahahaha!

Has it really been so long? I can't believe how time flew!

I can hardly remember anything over the past near two years. I've been so busy and freaked out about exams in school. But, it's all over now, and I can start blogging again. I've missed being on here, and I missed the comments I got.

Oh, I had a brief look at the Park Rangers Blog and it looks interesting to see what life is like for a Park Ranger. But, i've not had time to read it all yet, but i'll get the time. Especially over the next few days anyway, 'cos I had an accident and don't have to do much around the house for the next few days.

See, i'm kinda overweight, like the rest of my family, but we, especially me, are determined to lose the weight and get fitter, so, we all chipped in for £475 to buy a motorized treadmill. Nothing fancy, just with time, adjustable speed, distance/calories display and a three programme function. It does the trick anyway.
Anyway, the day it was delivered, Friday, I decided to put the pieces together so I could use it, delighted as I was. And stupid me, I was doing great until it came to raising it up to put the arms on. Being the careless wonder I used to be - years ago, when I was younger - I lifted the wrong end. The motor end. I mean, I was being careful, I didn't put my hands to the sides in case an accident happened, I checked underneath and lifted from the middle. But, unbeknownst to me, it was on some kind of spring and it shot up in the air. The jerking movement somehow managed to send my hands to the sides and voila!! My left hand got trapped in between the motor and the bar to the side ands got dragged up with it. When I got my hand out, I was in agony. All the skin on my hand had been torn off from one end and shoved up to my fingers. Ouch! Blood everywhere.

So, I went to the Nurse at the local Doctors and got it seen to, but now I can't use that hand very much at all. I feel like such a baby now though because my mum has to cut my food up for me sometimes and I can't even help my poor old gran with her dishes for now. I sure do feel guilty about that.

Anyway, I passed my exams last year, and now i'm looking for a job. I managed to get a Christmas job, but only for four weeks. Heh, now i'm back to square one, and I can't even get the dole 'cos i'm apparently too young to. Grrrrr!

I did have a holiday this year, in March. Just for a week, and it was in Ireland, Dublin City. Mostly shopping, but there were some quite funny tours and a reasonably comfy hotel. Plus, my best friend came along with us. She had a laugh too. She'd never been to Ireland before and was excited even just to go the the main city. Me, I used to go to County Roscommon almost every year with family for usually two weeks at a time. but still, it's a nice place to go, especially if you don't want extreme weather.

But, I guess i'll report more tomorrow, and hey, maybe this time i'll manage to keep on top of the blog.

Adios amigos. Ciao.

#3 Uh...??

So.... I haven't updated for a few days... won't hurt... I don't have to update every day. I mean, it's nothing important likes... anyway

I really need to work on my comic more... the pictures are getting bad and faded when I scan 'em in. And the text still aint perfect.... so, yet again, I shall be moving onto computerised text again. Unbelievable. at least I gave pre-written text a go... I t was worth it I think. I'll practise more and try again at a future date. If you wanna check out my cartoon, click the link below:

Animal Instinct

Day #2 Bad Day

WoW! What a bad day I'M having! Well, it started out ok, that is, at 7:15 AM exactly. I woke up when the alarm went off, happy and cheery... don't know why... and, I slid over to my computer, still half asleep, and turned it on. I then, fumbled around till I found the *upload* button, pressed it, and my latest creation was born!!! IT'S ALIVE!!!! Um.... seriously now.
I checked everything was ok... it was, naturally. After that, I got washed and dressed and found that downstairs, in the kitchen.. there was a large puddle of piss on the floor. Guess who. Jasper, that's who. So, I cleaned that up, with the help of my mum who was downstairs before me. Then, I got some breakfast and drew some more comics. As you can see, it started out fine. I got up, had a bit of fun and then it was time for school. How horrible. I mean, why do I have to go into that place to learn, when I can do just as well at home, but without the bullies and complete and utter prats.
Anyway, after about 10 minutes into my tutor period, I realised that 1. I didn't have my Geography homework 2. I didn't have my stuff for art class which I wanted to bring and 3. I didn't have a note for P.E. so that I could get out of it and be lazy.... nah, i'm not lazy, just I have a lot of bother in that class. Again, the prats. So... it went all downhill from there. Got moaned at by teachers and by other students as per usual... I think i've cheered up a bit just now, but I don't exactly know what's going to happen next. I'll update again later on today...

Day #1. What to say...

To say something unique is a challenge indeed

To say the least, my life is not one of the most exiting lives of all time. I do have my dramatic moments... but they don't come all the time. I'm a semi-average kid I suppose, apart from all my major differences. Like, my attitude, people say i'm very mature and grown up for my age, which is 15 by the way. I can't recall the last time someone told me I was acting very immature and that I should grow up... I think I already have grown up.

It just occured to me this morning, that for some reason, I have always been in the top classes in school for my whole life, without even trying to do overly well. I just go into school, work away as i'm told and then go home. I come back the next day and get commended for my excellent work in class and for homework. I know... boring boring boring... it's not very exiting. But, what if I said I didn't care what anyone else thought. That I don't expect loads of people to flock to my page every day to read my entries of a boring life and find it absolutely fascinating and awe inspiringly captivating. Did I ever say I wanted or expected that? No... well then.. Course, there's no one stopping you from coming along for a browsy read even if you don't actually pay attention to any of the words.

To be honest, that happens to me a lot. If in school, a teacher asks us all to pair up or go into teams to perform tasks, I have to get placed in a group by the teacher 'cos no one wants to know me.. well, they do, but they don't want to. anyway, they always ignore me and what i've got to say, no matter how right or relevant it is to the task. They'd prefer to get it all wrong than pay attention to what I say. Well, their loss I guess. But, today, I luckily didn't have to pair up or group with anyone. That was a big relief. I always hate it when I have to.

Anyway, my dog, Jasper, who's a croos between a labrador and a collie, loves to play with computers believe it or not. No, seriously! He claws at the keyboard when he gets the chance... but he also thinks he can play by chewing the wires to pieces... very dangerous indeed. I hopefully trained him not to do that. bless his little soul..

But, tomorrow, you can, if you want, come back again for another fun-filled adventure in "A Daring Day In The Life Of..." Hahahahahaha

Tuesday 23 October 2006

I’m so terribly sorry for not updating on Friday and Monday. I was in Glasgow since Thursday and then yesterday it was a 6.30 am rise for college. Same today. So this is Sunday’s. Tomorrow will be Monday’s and Wednesday’s will go up on Thursday and then it will continue as normal from Friday. To make up for the delays, I’m going to put up some random art in the gallery.

I don't know exactly when, but it'll be soon. I just need to look out all the sketches and stuff I've done and hook my scanner up again. Busy busy busy. Heh.

Sunday 8 October 2006

I have included a comment box on the website for readers to post their comments. I'm thinking about making it repeat on every page, so that anyone can post a comment as they read. But I don't know. It would mean a lot of time spent editing pages and I don't have the time just yet. I might try in the future when I've finished college.

Anyway, apart from that, I'm pleased to say that I am well ahead of schedule which means I can take a well-deserved break from drawing. I have enough comics to last until Xmas. Hallelujah!

Tuesday 3 October 2006

Well, we're finally in another month. Hooray! I was starting to get bored with September.

Now, I've decided to save myself some time and just post the blog here on blogger rather than both here and on the official site. It was too much work. I'm lazy. Heh.

And I've also decided that if you want, you can post comments about the cartoon and site here, 'cos I always check here. Commenting on OnlineComics.net is good too. I like comments. But I never get any. Oh well, at least some people like my comic. :D

Another thing I wanna blab about. I'M BROKE!!! WAAAAAA! I really need to get off my lazy arse and get an Xmas job or something. Wow. I'm gonna be so busy. But not to worry! Even if I DO end up working on all my days off of College, I'll still update to the schedule. I'm prepared. Muahahaahha! LoL. Anyway. Enjoy the comic tomorrow.

Monday 25 September 2006

Woops. My bad. I forgot to update the blog here yesterday. Oh well. This is what I posted on the website yesterday.

"So. I managed to update yesterday rather than Friday. I always seem to be having bother connecting to my server and it bugs me. But fret not. If I have too much more bother I shall be moving to a different server. It may have a pop-up/under, but if you have a pop-up stopper it’s no problem. Hopefully I won’t need to do that.

Anyway, check it out!! The first of the new strips. I like it. But they get better. I suppose it’s just artist development, eh? And I have two new email addresses which you can use to talk to me.

animalinstinct@bluebottle.com
animalinstinctartist@Phreaker.net"

Sorry 'bout that. Anyway, I'm in college right now and I shouldn't really be using the internet right now so I'll go. Ciao 4 NoW tho!

Monday 18 September 2006

I’ve updated quite a bit over the weekend. For one thing, I’ve put up a couple of old strips in the Gallery. They were never posted because I missed the date and they wouldn’t fit in the scheme any more. It was ok though because they weren’t important to the main storyline. Shame though. I quite liked them. Heh.

Oh. I’ve also added a Links page, where other comic web sites can have a link posted to them. Of course, I would appreciate a return link too. Though, if there’s a comic I really REALLY like, I’ll give them a link anyway.
I’ve made two different sized banners for a graphic link. But you can choose whether or not to use them. I would like it if anyone who linked di though. It’s slightly bolder. Plus, I really like the bigger one. It’s simple, but I like it. Anyway, enjoy the strip.

Oh, and I might be going to an update every weekday at some point. It depends. I’ve got a lot of stuff to do, and I might not be able to cope, like before. But, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Friday, September 15, 2006

Friday 15 September 2006

I just wanted to say that I had remarked about adding a user comments section so you all could have your say, well you can do that on the Full Blog since it’s a Blogger account and I’ve enabled commenting. Please say what you want, I like comments.

Also, the changes I said about are on the way. Not the layout changes. It’s the comic changes. I must admit, I actually find it easier to draw in my new style. The first of the new strips will be up this time next week. So, I can’t wait.

I’ve been really busy this week. My cousin, Lisa, has been over for a week and we’ve been out into Town a couple times. We get on really well. I’m gonna go visit her when I get a chance. I’ve always wanted to see where she lives. Aside from that though, I’ve been concentrating on my book and exercising. I’m determined to lose weight. Anyway, I’ll go for now.

Wednesday 13 September 2006

As you can probably see, I’ve been updating with a two section strip lately. This will be more common from now on, but not every time. Also, I just want to say, that if you have any issues about the website or any suggestions to make, please let me know.

geekproductions@gawab.com

That’s the e-mail address above. I’m hoping to hear from you.

Wednesday 6 September 2006

Hi again. I’ve been keeping up with my updates. Yes!! I almost failed today though. I couldn’t connect to my server. Again! I don’t understand why though. But, I managed to update successfully, eventually.

Now, there are going to be some page changes. As you’ve noticed, I’ve already widened the pages to accommodate more stuff, mainly bigger strips, but I’m going to be changing the layout slightly. I shall be using the background my sister did for me. The basic layout will remain the same though. Like the menu, title, etc.

This won’t be happening for a while yet as I still need to get it finished. There are a lot of things I need to sort out before I’m going to commit myself. So, it may be a more or less immediate, all-in-one, change that happens. Thought I’d warn you in advance. Heh. Thanks for reading the comic. :D

Monday 29 August 2006

I’ve been realising a lot lately. Mostly things other than the comic, but there is one thing I have to say. I know it’s boring and not very good. But, I must honestly say, I think it’s getting better. There are a lot of exciting plots and twists to come and even some minor changes. I’ll let you find out at the time though.

I also suppose that there are some things that are confusing and would benefit by being explained better. I’m going to be making a page like that soon. But, the rest of the information will come out eventually through the comic itself. Anyway, I feel very happy today. It was my first day of college and I did great. I’m doing The Office Experience! It’s great. Hopefully it won’t interrupt the plans I have for the comic and my book. I’ve been working on them for years now. Boy am I knackered.

Monday 21 August 2006

I’ve decided to give myself a place where I can post full updates which are mostly to do with the comic. I do have a standard blog, which I’ve included a link to incase anyone wants to have a neb at it.

http://animalinstinctblog.blogspot.com

As part of my first post, I want to apologise again for not updating for so long. I’ll try to keep an eye on what’s going on with my server and computer settings. And also I shall be making sure that the supply of ready strips doesn’t run out again. Heh.

Anyway, I’m going to try and include a comment post so you, the readers, can have a chance to say what you feel. I don’t know how long that’s going to take, but hopefully I’ll get it done before Xmas. LoL. Thank you to all those of you whove read from the beginning and keep checking back on the status. :D

New Blog

I'm going to post all previous posts here. Then I'll continue from there.
